Sometimes we feel up to it, sometimes we don’t. When we don’t it’s possible that others will read our reasonable no as fear. That’s when they say ‘¡Arrugaste!’
In case you don’t know, arrugar is to wrinkle, so it’s an enigmatic phrase, even for us native speakers.
Look at some examples:
- Me dijiste que íbamos a correr la maratón. ¿Ahora arrugás?
- Iba a saltar en paracaídas, pero arrugué a último minuto.
- Lean me dijo que apostábamos por el partido, pero al final arrugó.
Hope you have the opportunity to use this new phrase in your kit soon.
