Hola! ¿Qué tal? ¿Cómo están? I learned a new idiom in English that I feel translates perfectly as an idiom you’ll hear a lot from the younger generations of Argentinians: ESTAR MANIJA.

We use it whenever something creates an irresistible craving to do something. Generally we use prepositions like CON and DE.

For example:

  • Estoy re manija con el nuevo disco de Brittany Howard
  • Estoy manija de viajar, necesito rajar a algún lado.

Sometimes we’d say MANIJEADO CON

  • Estoy manijeada con hacerme un tatuaje de mis gatos.

Well, niche vocabulary, but you never know…

There’s a previous article on MANIJA that expands on the uses of the word.

Thanks for reading,

Until next time,
