One expression I heard from a friend this week brings me here today. In Argentina we have a sense of pride even in things that do not seem to be positive signs of identity, but quite the opposite.
That’s why, when faced to the daunting task of placing our country in a map, we like to say:
“Argentina queda en el culo del mundo.”
Literally, in the arse of the world, but as you can imagine it refers to places that are really far from some central reference.
