Pilas is the word for batteries in Spanish. We use this phrase whenever we want to say ‘stop sleeping on that’. Ponerse is a pronominal verb, so always remember to include the pronoun.

  • Ponete las pilas y empezá a estudiar ahora.
  • Tengo que ponerme las pilas porque en el trabajo tengo mucho que hacer.
  • Si no nos ponemos las pilas, no vamos a terminar más.
  • Hay que ponerse las pilas para que las cosas salgan bien.
