Culo is a beloved word in RPS. Proof of this is the fact that it is part of so many expressions. Today I’ll be expanding on this local fascination for the word.
De culo
If you say you did stg “de culo”, it means you did it by chance, or that it happened by chance. For example:
- Ganaron de culo, con un gol en contra en el último minuto.
- Se salvó de culo. Cruzó la calle como el orto.
Como el culo
On the other hand, when you say “como el culo”, it means very badly. For example:
- Me fue como el culo en el trabajo hoy.
- Llevé mi teléfono al service la semana pasada y lo arreglaron como el culo, porque ya está andando mal.
La loma del culo
Like I mentioned at the begininning, culo can be used to say something is very far, as in:
- Sí, es un lugar precioso, pero está en la loma del culo.
CULO and verbs
Culo also likes to be part of verb phrases.
TENER CULO
to be lucky.
TENER MÁS CULO QUE CABEZA
to be more lucky than intelligent.
TENER EL CULO SUCIO
to be guilty in some way.
SER UN CULO ROTO
be snobby.
ROMPERSE EL CULO
to put a lot of effort into something.
TENER CARA DE CULO
to look angry or upset.
LLEVARSE COMO EL CULO
to not get along well with someone.
CERRAR EL CULO
It’s used in imperative sentences, just like in ‘Shut the fuck up!’-
CAERSE DE CULO
to be surprised by something-
METERSE ALGO EN EL CULO
to finally not put something to use.
CULEAR
it has two meanings. One, sexual, has to do with anal sex, but other applies when you pay too much for something.
CULEADO
In Córdoba, guys use culea’o when talking informally to a friend.
